IMPORTANT

  • Users should review the California Continuing Education Help Page before starting classes.
  • The DRE requires salesperson licensees to take 45 hours of continuing education every 4 years.
  • Users will have access to the courses for up to 12 months after registering for a course package.
  • Each package is designed so that all classes included must be completed to meet DRE requirements.
  • Students may not study course materials for more than 8 hours per day. Your final exam will be locked until it has been determined (automatically) that you have been allowed the necessary study time.
  • You can take the courses within these packages up to 4 years before your license expiration date. However, you cannot upload your renewal information to the DRE until 90 days prior to your expiration date.
  • Licensees in the state of California are now required (beginning 1/1/23) to take an Implicit Bias course and an Interactive Fair Housing course as part of their 45 hours of CE. The packages on this page include these 2 requirements.
Students may not take more than 15 hours of final exam credits in one day. This means that you may not study for all of the courses and then cram 45 credit hours of testing into one day. However, students are free to either study and test over each course at a time, or they may study all the courses and take the tests afterward over the course of several days.

What members are saying:

"My license renewal deadline was approaching and I was headed out of town for a family visit across country with one course remaining for renewal. Thanks to C.A.R. and Online Ed, I was able to complete my last required course on the plane! I passed my exam and submitted all my courses to DRE from 30,000 feet. Thanks C.A.R., these 45 free hours are the best, both in content and accessibility!"

    - Julie Hoskins

"Just finished the course and renewed my Broker's license and want to compliment the CAR program. The on-line system and its courses worked very well for me. Thank you."
    - Don

"The full 45 hour series was very good in its detail to the important topics of disclosure and agency. I would recommend all agents take this series as a refresher in addition to license renewal."

- Patrick Rooney

"Keep up the good work. In my personal experience of renewing the broker's license every five years, this system is the best, informative, real and practical education tool for the licensees; and in my opinion, it's better than all any other courses I took before! Good job! and Thank you!"
   - Dora

"Quizzes and final exams are definitely not easy. They require much focus and comprehension. Nonetheless, info in materials offered is very effective."
   - Erik Ruiz
